Cast Your Vote - Be in to Win!

Okay people - serious help needed here please - AGAIN :)

I have the author photos back and have whittled them down to a few, but need your help to decide. I THINK I know which one (okay - make that two) photos I like best - but I'd really like to know your thoughts.

I might even be persuaded to give away an advanced PDF copy of my June 27th release, Affinity.
Check back on Sunday night (around 9pm Pacific Time)to find out if YOU are the winner.
Thank you so much!!

Let the voting begin.... :)

  1. You have some great pictures! Congrats. I like the closer ones...so either picture 2 or 4....and from there (since I have to make a decision...lol) I'd choose picture 4 :)

GOOD LUCK and congrats on your upcoming release!

  2. One? Oh no. You can't use just ONE!

You need #1 for FB, Twitter, social media sites because it's sassy and fun yet lovely to look at.

Then you need #4 for guest blogs, your webpage, promo, books, ect., because it's subdued and close up and has that mysterious blue tint that makes one stare at it. Locks it onto memories!

    Now PICK ME! :)

  3. You look great in all of them, but #1 isn't a close up and I'm seeing body language and the smile, which makes the smile look like a smirk. If 1 was cropped closer so we saw less body and more face and shoulder, it would look more like a sexy smile. #5 shows too much wood, so you're not the focus of the picture. I'd narrow it down to 2,3, &4. In 2, you look sweet. In 3, you look fun and flirty. In 4, you look like a woman with a secret. So, which "you" fits your writing best?

  4. I should say that no matter which one you choose, you can't go wrong, since all are absolutely beautiful!

  5. Sorry- I can't edit a comment and forgot to add that if just one is the choice, I'll pick #4.

  6. I choose number 4. You look great in all of them, but there are less distractions in the background on #4. Exciting! :)

  7. I LOVE photo 3. I also really like # 5, but I would edit it down so there is less of the corner showing.

  8. You look beautiful in all of the pictures. But my favorite is number 2. You look so happy and your radiating it. ;) Beautiful! And i love how its close up and you look like your glowing (in a good way!). Its my favorite one. Hope you get the picture that you want! ;)

  9. I like number 3. I just feel a sense of openness about it, as if you're willing to share yourself with us, your readers. If I could take a picture half as lovely as you, I'd be thrilled. They're all beautiful, but then you are, both inside and out.

  10. I love number 2, and of course the profile, and of course number 1, and then you've got to pick 4,and number 5 is stunning...

    1. Getting used to my new little laptop and hit the 'publish' button too soon in my original comment! I like #3 best. I like the way your head's tilted to the side and the touch of whimsy in this one. You take a great photo!

  12. Photo 3 my dear - a sexy photo for a romance writer.

  13. You look great in all of them, but I'd have to agree with many of the commenters. Like them, the closer ones are the ones I prefer. So 2 and 4, but if I had to choose just one, it would have to be 4.

  14. Great photos! I like 1 and 3. I think #1 is a bit sassier & sexier, and #3 is a gorgeous, beautiful pic. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you choose!

  15. I like the close-ups for a book cover and of them I think #4 is a classic author shot - great eye contact!

I still love #3 for FB :-) xx Batsy

  16. I'm going to go against the general consensus and say Number 1. It shows attitude.

  17. At the risk of seeming disloyal to my husband my pic is number 3. Great work by photographer, Ali. But it's so subjective - you've gained a lot of votes too, Hubby (Graeme)!

  18. LaVerne

No 2 does it for me. Personality plus! Open and yet kind of secretive....and the expression in the eyes gets to me. It hints of soul deep secrets.

Best of luck choosing from the comments here...everyone has a different opinion.

  19. Just adding Julianne's vote here for her - #2

Wow! Awesome comments girls! So far, it looks like #3 is in the lead, with #2 not far behind and #4 a whisker behind that. I COULD use two though couldn't I as Calisa suggested. Why not be a little greedy? ;)

Loving all your comments - you girls are the best!

Cherie - I had to laugh! Walking a fine line there aren't you? Hehehe

  20. I vote for #3. While they are all great, that one just stuck out for me.

  21. I love #2 and #4, but wonder if they may come out too dark in some cases. If I can only pick one, I choose #3, but can you crop it in a little closer?

    ReplyDelete
  22. #3 for me, LaVerne :) I love that sultry little tendril of hair across you face - befitting of a romance writer I think. But honestly, though, any of them would work, you look lovely in all five.

  23. I like #1 but I think #2 is more 'authorly'. They're all lovely though.

  24. Crop #3 in closer (top of chest & head only), make it a little darker in tone & I this shot would be the most versatile of all - for your media kit, any promotional inclusions, website, social media etc. It has attitude, catches the eye, and comes across as professional all in one.

  25. Well, I'm afraid I have to go with #5. I think it is the most natural looking pic taken, you look carefree and happy and it looks like you've just noticed Mr Perfect arrive. lol

I'd just crop a bit more of the background out. Gorgeous!

  26. Hi Laverne, I love 3 or 5 :D

  27. Definitely #4! The secretive Mona Lisa smile enticing us to read your stories and find out what it is you know and we don't. The full-on gaze capturing our attention and drawing us in to your world. Mesmerising!

  28. Wow - what diverse answers ladies - with great reasoning behind them all too. Thank you so much for your thoughts.

I'm about to do the draw for 'Affinity', so stick around! :) See you soon!
